Privacy Policy

Overview

Travel Chinese is a Mandarin learning app for China travel. The app is designed to work without an account. We collect the minimum information needed to operate learning progress, speech practice, advertising, and in-app purchases.

Learning data stored on your device

The app may store settings, selected language, theme preference, lesson progress, review history, practice scores, premium entitlement status, and similar app state on your device. This information is used to personalize your study experience.

Microphone and speech recognition

If you use role-play speaking practice, the app requests microphone access so your speech can be recognized and compared with the practice phrase. Speech recognition is provided by the operating system or platform speech services available on your device. Travel Chinese does not operate its own voice recording server. You can deny or revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions in system settings.

In-app advertising (IAA)

Free users may see app open ads, banner ads, interstitial ads, and native ads. Ads are served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may process device identifiers, approximate location, ad interaction data, diagnostics, and similar information under their own policies and consent flows. Premium removes ads inside the learning experience while the entitlement is active.

In-app purchases and subscriptions (IAP)

Premium purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Travel Chinese does not receive or store your full payment card details. Weekly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account before renewal. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase and does not renew. The store displays current price, trial eligibility, billing period, taxes, and cancellation controls before confirmation.

Third-party services

The app may use Apple App Store, Google Play, Google AdMob, platform speech recognition, and device operating system services. These services may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Children

Travel Chinese is intended for general travel learning and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information through a third-party service connected with the app, contact us and the relevant platform.
